Employee Was Not Disabled Under ADA
After Glena Tjernagel was dismissed from her job, she sued her former employer, The Gates Corporation, under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), and the Iowa Civil Rights Act (ICRA). The district court granted summary judgment for Gates on all claims, concluding Tjernagel did not establish she was disabled as a matter of law. On appeal, the 8th Circuit affirmed, finding that Tjernagel was not substantially limited in any major life activities and was therefore not disabled.
