
Alleged Sexual Harassment Was Not Severe Or Pervasive Enough To Create Hostile Work Environment
In
granting summary judgment t for the defendant, the United States District Court
held that the alleged sexual harassment of the
female plaintiff/employee, including the circulation of a rumor that she was
having an affair with a male co-worker, questioning as to how she felt "now that
your lover boy walked out," a male co-worker grabbing her in a dance pose, a
male co-worker grabbing her buttocks, and comments about her appearance, if
proven, was not severe or pervasive enough to create a hostile work environment
in violation of Title VII. The employee stated that she completed all of her
work. The alleged harassment lasted for only two or four months. None of the
challenged remarks other than the rumor were made public.
