Customer Spotlight: Camp INSIGHTS: Why this conference is worth attending year after year

Featuring an interview with Sandee Locke, payroll manager, Brother International

This year's customer conference, Camp INSIGHTS, is right around the corner. Scheduled for July 13-17 at the breathtaking Gaylord National Resort & Convention Center in National Harbor, Maryland (just outside of Washington, D.C.), the event will provide our customers with a training experience to remember. A full slate of educational opportunities will include hands-on product training, motivating professional development sessions, expert legislation and compliance advice, up-close product demonstrations, networking with peers and meetings with Ceridian executives and product experts.

Many of our customers tell us that INSIGHTS provides them with an invaluable experience, and we wanted to find out more. Sandee Locke, senior payroll manager for Brother International, will be attending her 18th INSIGHTS this year. She tells us about her role at Brother International and how INSIGHTS has made a difference in her career and the success of her organization.

C: What are your job responsibilities at Brother International?
S: I manage all payroll operations and system functions.

C: How do you work with Ceridian?
S: We work as partners rather than as customer to vendor. We have worked with Ceridian as our payroll provider for more than 20 years. After so many years of partnership we are more than just a customer. I work as the direct link between Brother and Ceridian, who is our payroll service provider and partner.

C: Tell us about Brother International.
S: Brother International Corporation is one of the premier providers of products for the home and office. Our U.S. corporate office, located in Bridgewater, New Jersey, was established in 1954 and markets many industrial products, home appliances, sewing machines and business products manufactured by our parent company, Brother Industries, Ltd., of Nagoya, Japan. Our products include a line of Multi-Function Center and printers. Brother also provides a line of facsimile machines in the United States, as well as a full line of P-touch Electronic Labeling Systems. We have six locations in the United States, and Brother and its subsidiaries employ more than 1,100 people in the Americas.

C: What Ceridian products and services do you use?
S: Our company uses HR/Payroll Web, Time Pro, Tax Filing, Background Screening, EAP and Work-Life services.

C: What are the benefits of attending INSIGHTS?
S: I attend INSIGHTS every year because of the training opportunities, the chance to preview new products and services, and to interact with other customers and Ceridian staff.

C: Why do you keep attending INSIGHTS year after year?
S: The experience and training opportunities are immeasurable.

C: What's your favorite thing about INSIGHTS?
S: I can't pick one favorite thing. All of it, from the opening session to the closing session, is phenomenal. I can't wait to get there!

C: How would you describe the atmosphere at INSIGHTS?
S: It is inspirational, fun and sincere. By sincere I mean that Ceridian genuinely demonstrates their appreciation for their customers. One example is the resource center that is available to the customers. You can talk to people in all areas of service and get hands-on support. I have used it and know its value. The attitude of the Ceridian team is very sincere. They do everything they can to help you. I can't even imagine us as a company leaving Ceridian services. As long as I'm here, we won't.

C: What do you take away from INSIGHTS each year?
S: I leave with enhanced training and the opportunity to see into Ceridian's future and their future plans for their customers.

C: How does your company benefit from you attending INSIGHTS?
S: The training opportunities better prepare me so I can return to the office and teach my staff how to use all of the features of Ceridian's services and products. Since we get a view into Ceridian's future, we can start our planning accordingly.

C: How has the training you receive at INSIGHTS helped your career?
S: It has given me a lot of assurance in my payroll professional career and because of that assurance my attitude of security in my career is very real to me.

C: Why do you choose to attend INSIGHTS over other professional conferences?
S: I enjoy being able to interact directly with our payroll provider Ceridian because their focus is on the training and products offered exclusively by them. Other professional conferences will not offer that exclusive access.

C: Do you feel that your investment in INSIGHTS gives your company a good return?
S: Definitely. At INSIGHTS I can take many classes for the price of attending the conference. It is very cost effective.

C: Would you recommend INSIGHTS to other payroll and HR professionals?
S: Absolutely, and I often do recommend it. The cost of INSIGHTS has remained constant for many years. It is a testament to me that Ceridian is there to serve their customers and to give them the opportunities to learn about their current and future products. It is truly about Ceridian giving back to their customers at their own expense.
