Company's 'Recruitment to Retirement' Offerings Will Help Companies Stay More Competitive
MINNEAPOLIS (March 30, 2005) - With what potentially will be the greatest labor shortage in history looming on the horizon, Ceridian (
www.myceridian.com), a leader in managed human resource solutions that maximize the value of people, fully supports the planning, acquisition, deployment, development and retention of a company's workforce through its Talent Acquisition & Management suite of products.
Ceridian's Talent Acquisition & Management offering features a series of robust recruiting and human capital management solutions that enable employers to hire top candidates and retain their best employees. Ceridian built its talent acquisition and management solution over the past four years. Two key steps in this strategic development process were the company's 2004 acquisition of Recruiting Solutions International, Inc. and its alliance with Softscape (
www.softscape.com), an industry leader in strategic people management technology and services that powers Ceridian's human capital management solution. Ceridian has added these components into its already deep base of offerings in human resource and benefits outsourcing products.
"In both North America and Europe, the aging of the workforce and impending loss of intellectual expertise pose a real threat for enterprises of every size," says Craig Julien, general manager and vice president of Ceridian's Talent Acquisition & Management division. "This drives a strong business case for the adoption of integrated talent acquisition and management solutions because it is critically important for companies to constantly improve efforts to maintain a capable, competitive workforce."
According to Ceridian, adopters of effective talent acquisition and management strategies are better able to: Recruit highly qualified employees to succeed employees who are close to retirement; utilize effective 'onboarding' systems for new hires; and succeed in the retention of current employees by offering and maintaining innovative and comprehensive benefits and incentive programs. The importance of the latter is underscored by the 2004 U.S. Job Recovery and Retention Survey released in November 2004 by the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) and CareerJournal.com (
http://www.careerjournal.com), which found that 75 percent of all employees are looking for new employment opportunities. Thirty-eight percent of the HR professionals surveyed by SHRM said they have noticed an increase in turnover since the beginning of 2004.
In January 2005, Ceridian conducted a survey of more than 300 HR managers, senior managers and executives from numerous industries to gauge how these industry experts view the possibilities of implementing a talent acquisition and management program at their companies. Of those polled, 83 percent agreed that talent acquisition and management tools increase the ability to manage their workforce; 80 percent believe they would better align employee and company objectives; and 79 percent agree they would lead to competing more competitively.
"As the marketplace evolves and demographics change, talent acquisition and management is a strategy that will have a significant influence on corporate viability," says Julien. "Companies are looking to link an intangible asset, their people, to tangible outcomes - shareholder value creation. Ceridian's solutions help them obtain that strategic objective."
Ceridian has developed an informational and sales inquiry Web site, (
